WordPress Plugin: Yoast SEO

After installing All-in-One SEO, then searching for whether I can run it in parallel with Yoast (no need) I found several websites that compared/contrasted/evaluated Yoast vs. All-in-One. Yoast won, barely. Check out the bottom of the last article.

I deactivated All-in-One and activated Yoast. I found the dashboard:



(But the dashboard didn't contain the name "yoast.")

When I launched the Configuration wizard, these are the questions I had to answer:


  • Please specify the environment in which this site - http://rickslists.com - is running.
    • Production (this is a live site with real traffic)
    • Staging (this is a copy of a live site used for testing purposes only)
    • Development (this site is running locally for development purposes)
  • What kind of site is http://rickslists.com?
    • Blog
    • Webshop
    • News site
    • Small business site
    • Other corporate site
    • Other personal site
  • This data is shown as metadata in your site. It is intended to appear in Google's Knowledge Graph.
    • You can be either a company, or a person, choose either:
      • Company
      • Person
    • The name of the company
    • Provide an image of the company logo
  • Please add all your relevant social profiles. We use these to let search engines know about them, and to enhance your social metadata:
    • Facebook Page URL
    • Twitter Username
    • Instagram URL
    • LinkedIn URL
    • MySpace URL
    • Pinterest URL
    • YouTube URL
    • Google+ URL
  • Please specify which of the following public post types you would like Google to see.
    • The post type "Posts" should be (Visible)(Hidden)
    • The post type "Pages" should be (Visible)(Hidden)
    • The post type "Media" should be (Visible)(Hidden)
    • The post type "Weaver Slider Post" should be (Visible)(Hidden)
  • Does, or will, your site have multiple authors? (Yes)(No)
  • To allow Yoast SEO to fetch your Google Search Console information, please enter your Google Authorization Code. Clicking the button below will open a new window. 
    • Enter your Google Authorization Code and press the Authenticate button.
  • Google Search Console
    • Select profile
  • Title Settings
    • Website Name
    • Choose the symbol to use as your title separator. This will display, for instance, between your post title and site name.
  • Sign up for Newsletter .... Signing up for the newsletter allowed me to download the Yoast book "Yoast’s small SEO guide to optimize your website
Now: off to see what it looks like, and what else I can learn about Yoast
